Licence facts for Hugging Face datasets
What the licence says, and where it says it
A dataset's licence tag is set by its author, and the Hub does not check it. For 80,479 public datasets, we compare the tag with top-level licence files and with the licences reported by source datasets listed in the card metadata. Every fact links to the file it was read from.

We also check the licence metadata of source datasets listed in the dataset card metadata. When a source reports a licence in a different category from the dataset's declared licence, we flag a possible licence conflict.
